[PBN] AU: Proposed management of Diesel/Biodiesel Blends - Call for submissions

Australian Government requests CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Proposed management of Diesel/Biodiesel Blends - Position Paper -
January 2008

The Australian Government has released a position paper on the preferred
management approach to diesel/biodiesel blends to help provide certainty
to consumers and industry. The position paper is open for public
comment until 14 March 2008. The objective of the paper is to seek
stakeholder comment on the position prior to amending the relevant
legislation.

The Australian Government Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage
and the Arts develops and reviews fuel quality standards under the Fuel
Quality Standards Act 2000 to reduce the level of pollutants and
emissions from fuel, to encourage advanced emissions control technology
and to enable more effective operation of engines. The development of
fuel quality standards is an important part of the Government's
continuing work to improve air quality and deliver cleaner fuels.
